Introduction

Etos is a drugstore chain in the Netherlands and part of Ahold Delhaize. Founded in 1919 by Philips and with their 100+ year of existence, it has grown to be the third biggest drugstore chain in the country with over 540 locations. They started as a mix of a drugstore and a supermarket but in 1973 Etos has specialized in being a drugstore specifically.

The challenge

Initially Excel sheets were used that were sent back and forth by email. Not only this can be quite impractical but it’s also difficult to keep track of and sensitive to errors. So for Etos the challenge was to create an overarching portal in which suppliers could manage their promotions. Important aspects are the usability, clearness and implementation of a feedback system. In this it was essential that for instance quotations could be sent back in the promotions overview including the required comments for optimal processing.

The solution

We created a tool which enables a login in multiple portals. The portals are named: ‘Promotie offertes’, ‘User management’ and ‘Leverancier beheer’. At the first-named portal the suppliers can efficiently change purchase prices and import/download CSV files after which the quotation can be sent back for approval from Etos. In the User management part new users can be added and associated rights can be assigned. There’s also a handy help screen and a tour implemented so users can get the most out of the application.

The value

The Etos Supplier Portal required an unique Internal Ops for which we created a specific workflow and at the same time created a clear application in which everything can be managed. So no Excel sheets are needed anymore. Our Supplier Portal solution leads to automated processes and is less sensitive to errors which leads to a significant increase in internal ops efficiency.
